I'm constantly traveling. Over the last 12 years I've traveled at least twice a year. I love airports. So many different people from different parts of life coming together under one roof. I’m a people watcher by nature and I couldn’t help but notice all the women with diamond rings on their left hand. Naturally I glanced down at my own hand and knew without looking that it was bare. Hey, I want a diamond ring, too!!!
We all know that when a man buys a ring for a woman that he loves it an outward declaration of love for her. He purchases the ring that he feels that she would love and cherish. And one that won’t make him look like a cheapo, lets be honest here. Women across the world wear with pride very expensive rings that they’re significant other brought them. Others wait years for someone to love them and present a ring and ask them to spend the rest of their lives together.
Lets take a quick visit the history of marriage. Once upon a time men would exchange land, animals or something valueable to his future bride's family. Sometimes he would gather his grooms men to help him capture his bride while with the help of her bridesmaids she would try to get away. Sorry, but there's no big drawn out proposal or mint green box with a Tiffany ring inside.
So I have to ask. I'm a required to wait for someone to buy me a ring? I'm a single woman with hopes of one day having a wonderful marriage with the right man. A man that will support me now and forever. But now I'm single…So let’s play, what if. What if I love myself unconditionally? What if I cater to myself? What if I make sure that I’m financially, emotionally, physically taken care of? Am I still required to wait for someone else to buy me a 5 carat princess cut solitary ring? (wink, wink)
Men have been buying women jewelry for years BUT diamonds was too expensive and to hard too obtain. The diamond miners and diamond sellers decided to sell to men to give to the women that they loved. Hence, diamonds are expensive and hard to obtain. "He must love me if he is giving me a diamond, right?"
Nowadays, any person with a saving account can go and buy a diamond ring. I’m speaking only of the material side of the marriage equation. You can't buy love or happiness.

The person, who I want to buy me a ring, will love me through my ups and down. Through the good and the bad. Through the smiles and tears. That person would only want the best for me and nothing less. That person will catch me when I fall and laugh with me when they know I'm okay. The person will see with only a glance that I'm a Queen. That person will push me to do my best. That person is me.
Thoughts...
You can be completely self accomplished and love yourself wholely which is a great thing. You can buy yourself many diamond rings. But would you dare put them on your ring finger? I think it shows a committed relationship, that you're basically off the market. Until someone who can buy you a bigger diamond comes along ;) .... Joking of course.
