Other People's Property

Blinded by rage as soon as I felt the sting in the palm of my hand, I knew that I had made contact with his face. How dare he speak to me that way? I don't give a damn who he think he is or how important he thinks his opinion's are? No one disrespects me and think that I'm going to be okay with it.

I was at a friend of the family house warming party. They lived in Brooklyn and I stayed in contact with them. There were several people at the party that I knew but mostly it was people from their jobs and hobbies. Among those that I knew was my male cousin Sean. Growing up Sean and I never really gotten along. We would talk during family reunion trips but outside of that we stayed in our own worlds. He was closer to Rachel then to me. In my opinion Sean was a fake. He seemed to act like something that he wasn't. By time Sean had his third drink he leaned over and whispered in my ear, “I always knew that you had a secret life.” Knowing exactly what he was talking about. I could care less. I didn't give a damn about his opinion, I got up and walked away.

New York apartments are small, but this couple decided to purchase a brownstone in Brooklyn. It was beautiful and breathtaking. Besides making sure that every room in the house was beautifully decorated they were serious art collectors. As I was admiring one of their paintings Sean's best friend Julian came up next to me. Please to see him I looked at him, “Hey Hun, I didn't know that you would be here.” Julian looked at me with a smirk on his face. An Latin version of Sean, Julian was always the object of some woman's affection. “Looking good Vicky.” I hate when people call me that. It's either Vic or Victoria. “Thanks.” I replied. “ I always knew that you was a closet freak with your good girl image. So when Sean told me about you fucking somebody's else man, I wasn't surprise. Since you like other peoples property, I'm taken. You can have your way with me. Anytime you want to commit a sin give me a call. But I gotta warn you, when I get a chance I'm going to try my best to get you pregnant. I gotta put you on lock down.” This is the moment where my hand met his face.

Regardless of my decision no one can openly disrespect me.

I didn't give Julian the satisfaction of an argument. Leaving him standing in the hallway with a hard on I simply walked away. Finding more interesting guest I begin talking about my publishing company.

I'm learning not to give to much weight to other peoples opinions.
