To break up or not to break up? That is the question

Previously on Thoughts of a Mistress

Hunter sent me a thoughtful letter (A letter to Victoria)

***

Hearing the ringing of my phone woke me from my sleep. 2:03am. That's what my clock on my nightstand read. I had only been asleep for two hours. Tim and I went to a children benefit concert in Central Park. It was a fantastic night. We danced and laughed with our mutual friends and strangers. Throughout the night I would remind myself how great it was not to have to hide behind close doors. It felt good, less stress, not having to hide. The night was started perfect and ended perfect .

Grabbing my phone, extremely annoyed, I read the text message.

Hunter: I've totally fallen for you.

The glare of the phone hurt my eyes so I had to re-read the text message.

Hunter: I've totally fallen for you.

Rolling over on to my back. I begin a text messaging conversation that could alter my relationship with Hunter.

Victoria: Wow...

Hunter: I know. I'm not sure what to do

Victoria: What do you want to do?

Hunter: Be with you. To be your one and only

Victoria: That's something that you're going to have to work out.

Hunter: But it scares me that I have these feeling for you. I don't think that I'm good for you

Victoria: Explain!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hunter: You're too beautiful, fly, intelligent to be locked up in a hotel room with me all the time. You are almost single. You should be out meeting men and enjoying life.

Victoria: Who says that I'm not.

Hunter: Your dating?

Victoria: Does it matter? What are you saying? Do you want to break this off?

Hunter: I don't, but I don't know what to do. I'm falling for you hard. I didn't expect this to happen. That Vegas trip sent me over the top.

Victoria: I'm not sure what I should say. It sounds like to me that you want to break up?

Hunter: Baby, I don't know what I want anymore. Since I want you full time its not right. I can't give you everything that you need.

Victoria: What do you think that I need from you?

Hunter: Time. I know that you enjoyed hanging out in Vegas. It was written over you face. That's when I started feeling guilty.

Victoria: Do you feel guilty cause you can't spend time with me or are you scared cause you want to spend time with me? You're not making sense. What's the point of this conversation.

Hunter: I want to be with you full time but I can't.

I didn't want to reply to Hunter. My thoughts and emotions was at an all time high. Plus it was too early for this type of conversation. The following morning, at a reasonable hour I emailed Hunter.

I wasn't to happy to get your text last night. I'm glad that you talked to me about it but it did make me upset. The thing that upset me was that fact that you didn't have a concrete solution. If you want to break it off, then do so. Please don't drown it out because trust me it I want to break it off with you I won't drown it out. I've enjoyed the time that we had together and as I said before nothing bad can come from this. If you are feeling conflicted then break it off. This has been a fun and wonderful ride. As quickly as this relationship started is as quickly as it can end.
